Returns and refunds policy

Website briefs and purchases
There is no checkout or payment facility on this website. Making a Project List or printing a quote brief creates no charge, order or cancellation fee. The information below concerns goods bought from Builders Stop Center through an agreed sale. The statutory consumer remedies described here apply where the purchase is covered by consumer law.
Goods that are faulty or unsuitable
Nigerian consumer law protects rights concerning quality, fitness and accurate descriptions. Section 132 of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act provides a three-month return remedy after delivery for goods that fail the standards in section 131(1), without penalty and at the supplier's risk and expense. The remedy is repair, replacement or refund as the law requires. This is not a general three-month limit on every right or claim.
Other statutory return rights can apply, including where goods do not match the agreed description or are unsuitable for a purpose made known to the supplier. Applicable legal conditions still matter. A manufacturer's warranty is additional to, not a substitute for, rights against the seller.
How to raise a return or refund request
Contact or visit the office that handled the purchase. Give the product code, purchase and delivery dates if known, a description of the problem and a receipt or other evidence of purchase. Photographs may help if they are available, but do not include unrelated personal information. Ask about suitable return arrangements before transporting heavy or installed goods.
Stop using an item that appears unsafe and seek appropriate professional help. Keep the item available for a reasonable assessment. Do not undertake a repair merely to make a claim. A request will need assessment against the purchase circumstances and applicable rights; this process must not be used to deny a remedy that the law requires.
Cancellations, change of mind and special orders
Cancellation and return rights depend on the circumstances of the sale and applicable law. This website does not promise a voluntary change-of-mind return period. Ask for any additional return terms, special-order conditions and lawful cancellation charges in writing before agreeing to an order. Describing goods as special-order does not itself remove statutory protections for defective or misdescribed goods.
Refund arrangements and complaints
Where a refund is due, the office will need to confirm the amount, payment method and expected processing time with you. Do not send full card details, passwords or banking access codes. You do not have to accept store credit instead of a monetary refund to which you are entitled.
You can raise a complaint with the business or with the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission at fccpc.gov.ng, and retain any right to seek a remedy through a competent court. No provision here waives a mandatory consumer right.
